J M Smucker Co reported fourth-quarter net sales of $2.27 billion, a 6% year-over-year increase, exceeding analyst expectations. Adjusted earnings per share reached $2.77, up nearly 20% from the prior year and 5% above consensus estimates.

The US Retail Coffee segment drove growth, generating $830.6 million in sales, a 12% rise from the same period last year. Frozen Handheld and Spreads sales increased 1% to $454.1 million, with segment profit jumping 37%. Sweet Baked Snacks outperformed expectations, with organic sales declining 4% versus a projected 12% drop.

Management guided fiscal 2027 net sales down 3% to 4% due to green coffee deflation but expects gross margin expansion of 300 basis points. Adjusted EPS is forecast at $9.75 to $10.25, with the midpoint above prior consensus. The company also reaffirmed its $1.10 quarterly dividend and projected $875 million in free cash flow.
