Tokyo-listed Metaplanet will seed a Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin treasury company with 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million cash.
Metaplanet, a Tokyo-listed firm, will transfer 2,100 BTC worth approximately $132.1 million and $2.5 million in cash to Super League Enterprise, a Nasdaq-listed company. The deal will rename Super League to Superplanet, Inc., trading under the ticker SUPA, and establish it as a consolidated Metaplanet subsidiary.
Metaplanet currently holds 43,000 BTC, making it the third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder. The transaction, funded by Metaplanet’s own balance sheet, contrasts with recent shell-and-PIPE deals that relied on third-party capital. Analysts highlight the move as a strategic expansion into the US market.
The closing is expected in the fourth quarter, with Metaplanet owning about 95.7% of Superplanet’s common stock. The existing advertising business will operate as a separate segment.
