Rep. Josh Gottheimer bought shares of CRWD, PANW, and SAIL in a managed account amid ongoing STOCK Act scrutiny.
Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a New Jersey Democrat and Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee’s Cyber Subcommittee, disclosed purchases of CrowdStrike (CRWD), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), and SailPoint (SAIL) in a filing dated August 10, 2026. The trades, executed between July 15 and July 20, ranged from $1,001 to $15,000 per position and were made within a Morgan Stanley Select UMA account, a professionally managed vehicle.
The transactions occurred alongside roughly a dozen other trades, including Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) preferred shares and several sales, suggesting an advisor-driven rebalancing rather than direct stock selection by Gottheimer. Despite the STOCK Act’s provisions, the law does not differentiate between managed and self-directed accounts, leaving potential conflicts unresolved.
CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks have surged 104% and 121%, respectively, over the past year, reflecting broader strength in AI-driven cybersecurity stocks independent of congressional activity.
