The Bored Ape Yacht Club creator secured 29 Bored Apes and two CryptoPunks after discovering a vulnerability in a defunct NFT liquidity platform.

Yuga Labs rescued approximately $570,000 worth of NFTs, including 29 Bored Apes and two CryptoPunks, from an exploit targeting the defunct Floor Protocol. The firm conducted a whitehat operation after identifying a vulnerability that could extend to other high-value collections.

The exploit affected Floor Protocol, which ceased operations last year. Yuga Labs discovered a separate but related exploit path that threatened additional NFTs, prompting immediate action to secure the assets before malicious actors could exploit them.

Yuga Labs currently holds the rescued NFTs in custody while determining how to return them to their rightful owners. The firm’s pseudonymous VP of Blockchain, 0xQuit, confirmed the operation aimed to prevent further theft.
