US home prices remained unchanged in April on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the S&P Case-Shiller 20-city index, halting a downward trend after a 0.2% drop in March. The flat reading aligned with consensus forecasts, signaling a potential stabilization in the housing market.

On an unadjusted basis, the 20-city composite rose 1.0% month-over-month, slightly below the revised 1.1% gain in March. Year-over-year, prices increased 1.1%, matching expectations and improving from a revised 0.9% prior.

The data suggests cooling price pressures, though regional variations persist. Market reaction remains muted as investors assess broader economic conditions.
