Securitize secures shareholder approval for its merger with CEPT, targeting a Thursday NYSE debut under ticker SECZ.
Securitize, a tokenization infrastructure provider, will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday after shareholders approved its merger with SPAC Canton Equity Partners II (CEPT). The combined entity will trade under the ticker SECZ, pending customary closing conditions on Wednesday.
Shares of CEPT surged 20% during Monday’s session in anticipation of the approval. Securitize, founded in 2017, has partnered with major asset managers including BlackRock, Apollo, and KKR to issue blockchain-based versions of traditional investment products.
The listing reflects growing institutional interest in tokenization, which converts traditional assets into blockchain-based securities. Securitize counts BlackRock and ARK Invest among its early backers.
