Cross-border bank credit grew by 11% year-on-year, the highest annual growth rate since Q1 2008. Bank credit to emerging market and developing economies (EMDEs) expanded by $42 billion in Q4 2025, which brought its annual growth rate up to 7%.
The BIS global liquidity indicators show that foreign currency credit in US dollars and euros continued to grow robustly, both globally and in EMDEs.
