SpaceX’s June 12 IPO raised $85.7 billion after selling 638.9 million shares at $135 each. Elon Musk, holding over 6 billion shares, faces a 366-day lock-up preventing sales until June 12, 2027.

Early investors and employees, however, will see nearly 6 billion additional shares unlock in stages before then. The first release on August 6 freed 912 million shares, more than doubling the float. Further releases will follow, increasing supply ahead of Musk’s eligibility to sell.

The staggered unlocks could pressure SpaceX’s stock as supply rises before Musk’s potential sales.
