Shell plans to sell its offshore wind assets valued over $1 billion as it shifts focus toward higher-margin fossil fuel investments.
Shell announced plans to sell its offshore wind portfolio, worth more than $1 billion, as part of a strategic pivot toward fossil fuel opportunities. The company aims to initiate the sale process by late 2026, with completion expected in 2027.
The move follows a broader industry trend of scaling back renewable energy investments in favor of traditional oil and gas projects. Earlier this month, Jefferies raised Shell’s price target to $122.40 from $119.70, citing a 56% upside potential driven by its recent acquisition of ARC Resources.
Analysts project the ARC deal will boost Shell’s net income by approximately 6% between FY26 and FY28, supported by stronger integrated gas earnings.
