Sharplink resumes Ethereum purchases after an eight-month hiatus, acquiring 5,000 ETH for $7.85 million amid a 50% price decline this year.

Sharplink (NASDAQ: $SBET) purchased 5,000 Ethereum ($ETH) worth $7.85 million on June 25, marking its first acquisition since October 2025. The move follows a prolonged pause in buying activity, though the firm remains the second-largest corporate Ethereum holder with 876,285 ETH valued at $1.3 billion.

Prior to this purchase, Sharplink last bought 19,270 ETH for $78.3 million in October 2025. The company’s average purchase price stands at $3,609 per ETH, resulting in an unrealized loss of $1.79 billion. Ethereum currently trades at $1,532, down nearly 50% year-to-date.

Sharplink’s stock ($SBET) has fallen 55% over the past 12 months, reflecting broader crypto market weakness. The purchase is seen as a potential signal of confidence by some investors despite ongoing losses.
