The Securities and Exchange Commission appointed four new members to its Investor Advisory Committee, increasing total membership to 13. Three appointees will serve four-year terms, while one will represent senior citizen interests, the SEC said.

The committee, established under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, provides guidance on regulatory priorities and investor protection measures. It previously operated with nine members before the latest additions.

New members include Patrick Daugherty, a partner at Foley & Lardner, and John Liu, a former Accenture managing director. The SEC also appointed Sheldon Ray of Raymond James & Associates and Adriana Robertson, a University of Chicago law professor.
