French retailer Printemps appoints Rémy Baume as CEO to bolster luxury and e-commerce amid a competitive retail landscape.

French department store group Printemps has named Rémy Baume as its new CEO, filling a nine-month vacancy. Baume, former head of Zadig & Voltaire, brings over 20 years of experience in retail, fashion, and consulting, including roles at Carrefour and LVMH. His appointment is effective immediately as Printemps seeks to strengthen its position in luxury, fashion, and e-commerce.

The leadership change follows the departure of former CEO Jean-Marc Bellaiche last September. Printemps operates 20 stores, including locations in France, Doha, and New York City, and faces a rapidly evolving retail environment. Baume emphasized a focus on innovation and customer experience in his first statement.

Baume’s background includes leading Kidiliz Group and senior positions at LVMH, positioning him to drive growth in a sector under pressure from digital transformation and shifting consumer preferences.
