Tay joins from UBS Wealth Management to oversee regional investment strategy and macroeconomic research for Pictet’s $987bn client franchise.
Pictet Wealth Management has named Kelvin Tay as chief investment officer for Asia, based in Singapore. He will report to CEO Victor Aerni and CIO César Pérez Ruiz, joining the global investment committee and Asia executive committee.
Tay’s role includes shaping regional investment strategy, overseeing macroeconomic research for key Asian markets, and acting as the firm’s primary spokesperson for investment views. He previously served as CIO for South Asia Pacific at UBS Wealth Management and held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan.
The appointment underscores Pictet’s focus on expanding its Asia business, which manages part of the firm’s $987bn in client assets. Tay’s experience is expected to strengthen the firm’s investment-led approach in the region.
