Newell Brands reported adjusted EPS of $0.42, topping estimates, and raised full-year guidance amid core sales growth.

Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) shares jumped nearly 39% Friday after reporting second-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.42 per share, surpassing the $0.19 estimate. Revenue rose 3% to $2.0 billion, marking the company’s first sales growth in over four years.

The company also lifted full-year earnings guidance to a range of $0.73 to $0.77, up from a prior midpoint of $0.58. However, much of the beat stemmed from a $100 million one-time tariff recovery, equating to $0.17 per share, with underlying operating earnings closer to $0.21.

Core sales increased 2.3%, with five of six business units growing, and U.S. operations expanded for the first time since the COVID era. The raised outlook included the tariff benefit, leaving underlying forecasts largely unchanged.
