A new political action committee, Defend Developers PAC, has entered the crypto campaign-funding space, focusing on incumbent lawmakers who support legal protections for decentralized finance (DeFi) developers. The PAC aims to raise and contribute over six figures across key midterm races, distinguishing itself from larger groups like Fairshake by backing proven allies in Congress.
The committee joins existing crypto-focused PACs, including Fairshake, Tether-linked Fellowship PAC, and the Winklevoss-backed Digital Freedom Fund. While not expected to rival Fairshake’s scale, Defend Developers PAC emphasizes targeted support for lawmakers already aligned with its mission to shield crypto technologists from legal risks.
Founder Gavin Zavatone stated the PAC’s goal is to ensure crypto developers have champions in Congress, signaling a strategic push ahead of the upcoming elections.
