Michael Burry, founder of Scion Asset Management, has taken a rare bullish position on Microsoft (MSFT) by purchasing December 2028 LEAP call options with a strike price in the low $700s. The move marks a notable shift for Burry, who has spent much of 2026 expressing skepticism toward artificial intelligence and semiconductor stocks like Nvidia (NVDA).

Burry previously built a reputation for bearish bets, including shorting the housing market ahead of the 2008 financial crisis. His recent criticism of AI stocks drew comparisons to the dot-com bubble, with put options on NVDA and Nasdaq funds reflecting his cautious stance. The Microsoft call options, however, suggest a strategic pivot.

The LEAP options allow Burry to limit risk while positioning for potential upside in MSFT over the next several years. The strike price of $700 implies significant long-term confidence in the stock’s trajectory.
