Marianne Lake’s retirement removes a top contender to replace Jamie Dimon at the $4.9 trillion-asset bank.
JPMorgan Chase announced Marianne Lake will retire, eliminating a leading candidate to succeed CEO Jamie Dimon. Lake, who led consumer and community banking since 2024, was a 27-year veteran and a fixture on industry power lists.
The bank named Troy Rohrbaugh and Doug Petno as co-presidents, effective immediately. Rohrbaugh will take over Lake’s role, while Petno will remain sole CEO of the commercial and investment bank. Daniel Pinto, the current president, is set to retire by year-end.
The move reshapes the bank’s leadership amid Dimon’s long tenure, which began in 2006. The $4.9 trillion-asset lender has not yet named a successor.
