Major food companies are struggling to meet regenerative agriculture commitments, with quantified targets declining to 28% from 35% in 2023. The assessment of 78 publicly listed firms highlights gaps in measurement, governance, and farmer support, despite growing corporate pledges.

While 54% of companies claim to measure outcomes, only 4% have set outcome-based targets. Over half aim to reduce agrochemical inputs, yet none have established pesticide reduction goals. Just four firms—Conagra Brands, Danone, Nestlé, and Sysco—track herbicide use in their programs.

The report underscores a credibility gap as some companies abandon earlier promises, raising concerns about long-term resilience against climate and nature-related risks.
