Jim Cramer identified five stocks as potential buys amid margin compression-driven sell-offs, citing Meta Platforms as a prime example. Meta’s Q2 2026 revenue rose 27.96% YoY to $60.80 billion, but EPS missed estimates at $6.18 versus $7.22, while operating margin fell to 31% from 43%. Free cash flow dropped to $784 million from $8.55 billion, and capex surged 82.1% to $30.12 billion.

The pattern mirrors Intel’s margin recovery, which drove a 122% YTD share gain, and SoFi’s 42% YTD decline despite five consecutive EPS beats and 61% net income growth. Alphabet’s negative free cash flow and Nvidia’s 85% revenue growth further illustrate the disconnect between fundamentals and price.

Cramer’s framework suggests margin compression often signals a buying opportunity, particularly when fundamentals remain strong. The thesis aligns with recent market moves, including Meta’s 9.26% post-earnings drop and Intel’s 15-year revenue growth high.
