Centrus Energy has finalized a $900 million task order from the U.S. Department of Energy to deploy large-scale production capacity for High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU). The contract, awarded competitively earlier this year, aims to bolster domestic uranium enrichment capabilities.

The agreement follows growing demand for HALEU, a fuel required for advanced nuclear reactors. Prior discussions highlighted supply chain vulnerabilities, with the DOE emphasizing the need for domestic production to reduce reliance on foreign sources.

No immediate market reaction was disclosed, but the deal is expected to support long-term energy security and nuclear fuel supply chains.
