Bitcoin’s average spot trading volume declined to $2.2 billion in July, marking its lowest level since November 2023. The drop reflects broader market caution driven by fears of interest rate hikes and macroeconomic uncertainty, which have weighed on cryptocurrency sentiment this year.

BTC currently trades near $65,000, significantly below its October 2025 peak of $126,000. Similar volume declines occurred in late 2023, when the token fell to $37,700 following the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes, before rebounding sharply in subsequent months.

Despite the sluggish activity, some analysts argue the current environment presents accumulation opportunities, citing historical patterns of recovery after periods of low liquidity.
