Active loans in decentralized finance lending protocols climbed to $22.2 billion in July, a 7.2% increase from June’s $20.7 billion. The rise ends five consecutive months of declines, signaling a potential recovery in the sector.

Aave remained the dominant player with $11 billion in active loans and a 46.2% market share. Combined with Morpho, the two protocols control nearly two-thirds of the market. Analysts caution the growth may not yet indicate a sustained trend reversal.

The increase follows a prolonged downturn, with market participants monitoring whether the uptick will persist or prove temporary.
