BlackBerry raised its full-year revenue outlook after first-quarter results exceeded guidance, driven by growth in its QNX embedded software business.
BlackBerry reported first-quarter revenue of $152.9 million, a 26% year-over-year increase, surpassing its guidance of up to $140 million. Adjusted earnings per share reached 4 cents, topping both the company’s 2-to-3-cent forecast and analysts’ 3-cent consensus.
The company raised its full-year revenue outlook to $594 million to $621 million, up from $584 million to $611 million previously. Adjusted earnings guidance was also lifted to 16 to 20 cents per share. Revenue from the QNX division rose 26% to $72.3 million, with adjusted EBITDA climbing 52% to $19.3 million.
BlackBerry cited expanding opportunities in software-defined vehicles, robotics, and AI-driven embedded systems as key growth drivers. The company highlighted its Alloy Kore platform and broader embedded market demand as long-term catalysts.
