Professional investors’ Bitcoin holdings fell to 261K BTC in Q1 2026
Professional investors reduced their Bitcoin holdings from 313K BTC to 261K BTC in Q1 2026, a 17% decline.
Hedge funds and brokerages drove 95% of the reduction, with hedge fund holdings falling 39% and broker holdings declining 53%.
Banks, however, increased their total holdings to 15.2K BTC, with some adding exposure and others disclosing their first BTC position.
