Italian tech firm Bending Spoons debuts on US markets after securing $1.68 billion in its IPO, valuing the company at $18.4 billion.
Bending Spoons, an Italian technology company, has priced its US initial public offering at $29 per share, above the marketed range of $26 to $28, raising $1.68 billion. The IPO involves 58 million shares sold by the company and existing shareholders, valuing Bending Spoons at $18.4 billion based on outstanding shares.
The listing marks a rare software IPO in 2026, as the sector has faced investor skepticism due to AI disruption concerns. US IPO proceeds surpassed $100 billion in the second quarter, driven by large deals and SpaceX’s blockbuster listing, but software companies have remained largely absent.
Bending Spoons operates as a hybrid between private equity and tech, acquiring and revamping digital businesses. Its recent acquisitions include Vimeo, Brightcove, AOL, and Eventbrite, with a strategy focused on cost-cutting and technology overhauls.
