Overstock.com rebrands physical locations under the revived Bed Bath & Beyond name following a $21.5 million bankruptcy purchase.
Bed Bath & Beyond will rebrand over 240 brick-and-mortar locations after Overstock.com acquired the retailer out of bankruptcy for $21.5 million. The move marks a revival of the iconic home goods brand, which shuttered its remaining stores in 2023 before the acquisition.
The retailer’s collapse followed years of declining sales and competition from e-commerce giants. Overstock.com, an online-focused company, rebranded its digital presence under the Bed Bath & Beyond name earlier this year, citing strong consumer recognition.
The rebranding of physical stores reflects a broader trend of distressed retail brands being revived under new ownership, often shifting to digital-first models while leveraging existing brand equity.
