The telecom carrier increases two administrative fees by $1 per line starting August, following a $10-$20 hike in April.
AT&T will raise two monthly administrative fees for customers beginning August 5, increasing costs by $1 per line. The “Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee” will climb from $3.99 to $4.99, while a separate administrative fee will also rise by the same amount. The changes follow a prior increase in December, when the fee rose from $3.49 to $3.99.
The move comes as AT&T faces elevated customer losses, with postpaid phone churn rising to 0.89% in Q1 2026 from 0.83% a year earlier. In April, the carrier raised prices on retired unlimited plans, adding $10 for single-line users and $20 for multi-line accounts, sparking customer backlash.
The latest fee hikes target billing charges rather than core service plans, though the cumulative impact may further pressure subscriber retention.
