Ark Investment Management sold $40.6 million of a semiconductor stock during a 4% decline in the iShares Semiconductor ETF on May 15. The move aligns with Cathie Wood’s strategy of trading holdings during market pullbacks.

The Ark Innovation ETF rose 35.49% in 2025, outperforming the S&P 500’s 17.88% gain. However, year-to-date, ARKK trailed the index, down 3.81% versus the S&P 500’s 8% advance. Wood’s funds have seen volatility, including a 60% drop in 2022.

Wood focuses on high-growth tech sectors like AI and robotics, which drive fund performance but also contribute to sharp swings.
