European beauty retailer Douglas reports a €2.6m net loss for Q3 as revenue and EBITDA decline on softer demand in core markets.

Douglas Group reported a €2.6m net loss for the third quarter ending June 2026, reversing a €17.3m profit a year earlier. Revenue fell 2% year-on-year to €987.8m, while adjusted EBITDA dropped 19.4% to €127.5m, pressured by weak demand in Germany, France, and the Netherlands and heightened price competition.

For the first nine months of FY25/26, revenue rose 0.5% to €3.61bn, but adjusted EBITDA declined 9% to €577.3m. Net income plunged 89.1% to €17.6m from €161.3m in the prior-year period. The company operates around 1,970 stores across Europe, with Germany, France, and the Netherlands accounting for 60% of group sales.

CEO Sander van der Laan cited a shift toward online beauty purchasing and said the group will prioritize e-commerce while reviewing stores against profitability targets. Online sales fell 1% in Q3, though markets like Poland, Spain, and Italy showed stronger growth.
