374Water has been added to the Russell Microcap index, a move the company expects to raise its profile among institutional investors.

The North Carolina cleantech firm was included following the annual reconstitution of Russell’s US indexes, effective after the close on 26 June

Chief executive Danny Bogar said the index inclusion would amplify the value the company creates for customers, while stressing its focus remained on commercial deployment and growing recurring revenue. The Russell Microcap Index tracks the smallest segment of the US equity market and is used as a benchmark by fund managers and index-based funds. Inclusion can lift demand for a company’s shares, as passive funds tracking the index buy the stock. 374Water uses supercritical water oxidation, a process that destroys organic waste by breaking it down at high temperature and pressure, marketed under its AirSCWO brand.

The technology targets the permanent destruction of waste streams, including PFAS, the persistent “forever chemicals” that resist normal breakdown, as well as biosolids, industrial waste, landfill leachate and firefighting foam. 374Water said demand for permanent destruction of organic waste supported strong growth projections. The company supplies industrial, municipal and federal markets
