Yum Brands agreed to sell its Pizza Hut chain for $2.3 billion to private equity firm LongRange Capital and its partner Yum China. The deal, disclosed in a regulatory filing, aims to refocus the company on its remaining brands, including KFC and Taco Bell.

Shares of Yum Brands rose in early trading following the announcement. The sale follows a period of strategic review as the company seeks to optimize its portfolio. Yum China, which operates Pizza Hut in China, will retain its stake in the business.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Analysts noted the move aligns with Yum Brands’ long-term growth strategy.
