Deal includes upfront payment and potential $45m-$100m earnout based on 2028 financial performance.
Vita Coco has purchased Copra, a producer of super-premium Thai Nam Hom coconut water, for an initial $175m upfront payment. The acquisition aims to strengthen Vita Coco’s position in the fast-growing coconut water category, which executives describe as still in its early stages of expansion.
Copra, based in New York with production in Thailand, also supplies private-label products and offers a range of coconut-based foods. The deal includes an additional earnout of $45m to $100m, contingent on Copra’s 2028 financial results, payable in 2029.
Vita Coco highlighted Copra’s expertise in sourcing and premium offerings as key to expanding market share and meeting consumer demand across new formats and price tiers. The company expects the acquisition to drive growth through increased capacity and strategic investments.
