Hackers exploit bridge for over $11 million
A cross-chain bridge between Verus and Ethereum was attacked, resulting in a loss of over $11 million.
The issue is similar to past bridge exploits, such as Wormhole and Nomad, and stems from verification failures.
The problem could be fixed with roughly 10 lines of code, and some Verus block-producing nodes went offline after the incident, briefly halting block production.
