Vertiv expands its thermal management portfolio with ThermoKey, targeting rising demand for AI-driven data center cooling solutions.
Vertiv Holdings (NYSE:VRT) has completed its acquisition of ThermoKey, an Italian provider of heat-rejection and heat-exchange equipment. The deal adds dry coolers, heat exchangers, and systems compatible with low-global-warming-potential refrigerants, enhancing Vertiv’s offerings for high-density AI data centers.
Vertiv, which has delivered a 134% 3-year CAGR, aims to address cooling constraints in AI infrastructure, where rising rack densities require facility-level thermal management. ThermoKey’s technology has already been integrated into selected Vertiv products, potentially reducing execution risks.
The acquisition expands Vertiv’s manufacturing capacity in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa while extending its coverage across the thermal chain. However, profitability will depend on project timing, pricing, and integration discipline.
