Vertex will acquire Crinetics for $85.00 per share, expanding its portfolio with two key endocrinology drugs in acromegaly and CAH.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals has agreed to acquire Crinetics Pharmaceuticals for nearly $10bn, or $8.8bn net of cash acquired. The deal, approved by both boards, values Crinetics at $85.00 per share in cash and is expected to close in Q3 2026 pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.

The acquisition adds Crinetics’ FDA-approved Palsonify (paltusotine) for acromegaly and atumelnant, a Phase III candidate for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). Palsonify was approved in the US in September 2025 and in Europe in April 2026, while atumelnant targets CAH and potentially Cushing’s syndrome.

Vertex expects the deal to drive revenue growth from Palsonify’s launch and atumelnant’s future potential, with both assets projected to deliver significant peak sales. The transaction strengthens Vertex’s position in rare endocrine disorders.
