Verizon Communications reported second-quarter results highlighting continued momentum in its customer-focused strategy. The company added 184,000 postpaid phone subscriptions, marking its strongest quarter for additions in five years, while broadband net additions reached 348,000. Consumer postpaid churn improved to 84 basis points, extending a trend of sequential declines.

Revenue declined 0.7% year over year to $34.3 billion, driven by a 20% drop in equipment revenue due to reduced device subsidies. Service revenue rose 3.5% to $29.2 billion, with consumer service revenue up 3.3%. Business segment revenue increased 2.6% to $7.2 billion. Adjusted earnings per share grew 6.6% to $1.30.

The results reflect Verizon’s shift toward customer retention and growth, offsetting declines in equipment sales. The company’s 6% dividend yield remains a key attraction for income-focused investors.
