Markets show caution ahead of Nonfarm Payrolls report, with futures trading narrowly as Fed policy signals hang in balance.

US stock futures traded mixed early Friday, with Dow Jones futures edging down 0.04% to 53,990, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.07% and 0.29%, respectively. Investors remain on edge ahead of the July Nonfarm Payrolls report, seeking clues on labor market strength and potential Federal Reserve rate moves.

Thursday’s session saw broad declines, led by the Dow Jones’ 0.85% drop, as rising oil prices reignited inflation concerns. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also retreated, easing 0.18% and 0.06%, respectively. Geopolitical tensions, including Iran’s proposed restrictions on US and Israeli vessels, added to market unease.

Traders are weighing the Fed’s next steps, with some fearing a rate hike as early as next month if labor data surprises to the upside.
