US government invests $2 billion in quantum computing companies
The US government is providing over $2 billion in incentives and investments to quantum computing companies.
The largest investment will go to IBM’s start-up Anderon, with $1 billion in incentives and another $1 billion from IBM.
GlobalFoundries will receive $375 million in incentives to expand domestic quantum manufacturing, with the Commerce Department taking a 1% equity stake.
Seven other quantum computing companies, including Rigetti and D-Wave Quantum, will also receive equity investments.
