Unitree Robotics shares surged 542% in their Shanghai trading debut after raising 6.1 billion yuan ($904 million) in an initial public offering. The Hangzhou-based company, known for its backflipping robots, opened 629% above its IPO price, reflecting strong investor demand.

The listing marks the first time a humanoid robot maker has gone public in mainland China. Prior to the debut, there were no comparable benchmarks for the sector in the domestic market, underscoring the novelty of the offering.

The company’s shares rose sharply at the open, signaling robust interest from traders in the emerging robotics industry.
