UnitedHealth reported Q2 adjusted earnings per share of $6.38, exceeding the estimated $4.89. Revenue reached $112.03 billion, surpassing the expected $110.67 billion.
The company’s UnitedHealthcare segment generated $86.02 billion in revenue, beating the estimated $84.91 billion. Optum revenue was $65.7 billion, slightly above the expected $65.1 billion.
The medical care ratio was 86.7%, lower than the estimated 88.4%. The operating cost ratio was 12.7%, higher than the expected 12.5%.
