Taiwanese chipmaker reports stronger April sales, lifting four-month cumulative revenue to NT$83.7M amid demand recovery.

United Microelectronics reported April sales of NT$22.66M, a 10.8% year-over-year increase, driven by rising semiconductor demand. The gain follows a softer first-quarter trend and reflects improving order visibility in key markets.

Cumulative January-to-April revenue reached NT$83.7M, up 6.88% from the same period last year. Analysts had anticipated a mid-single-digit rise, citing inventory corrections easing in the foundry sector.

Shares fell 3.6% in premarket trading, paring earlier gains as investors weighed near-term margin pressures against longer-term growth prospects.
