Small and mid-sized UK clothing manufacturers reported average quarterly sales of £278,427, down 44% from £498,254 in the previous quarter. The decline marks a 53% year-on-year drop, the steepest among sectors analyzed in the report.
Across all manufacturing categories, average sales revenue fell 39% during the same period. The furnishings sector saw the sharpest decline, with revenue plunging 61% to £92,410, while construction suppliers dropped 57% to £209,662.
