Uber launches robotaxi service in Houston
Uber Technologies, Inc. (UBER) has announced Houston as the second market for its autonomous ride-hailing service.
The launch is slated for mid-2027, with dozens of cities in the pipeline.
Uber has secured a 50,000-square-foot facility in Houston to serve as the program’s operational depot.
The announcement comes after Lucid secured $750 million in fresh capital, comprising $550 million from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and $200 million from an Uber subsidiary.
