Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing reports $40 billion in Q2 revenue, driven by broad AI chip demand across architectures.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) reported $40 billion in Q2 revenue, a 39% year-over-year increase, as AI-driven demand outpaced manufacturing capacity. Earnings per share rose 61%, reflecting strong demand for chips used in AI workloads across multiple architectures, including x86, ARM, and RISC-V.
The company manufactures chips for major AI players like Nvidia, AMD, Apple, Broadcom, and Qualcomm, positioning it as a key beneficiary of AI spending expansion beyond GPUs. CEO C.C. Wei noted that agentic AI is reviving CPU demand in data centers, further broadening TSMC’s market reach.
AI growth is shifting from GPU-centric training clusters to a wider range of semiconductors, including memory, networking, and storage chips. TSMC’s role as a foundry for nearly all major AI designers ensures exposure to the sector’s growth without reliance on a single winner.
