President Donald Trump called on the Senate to pass the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a crypto market structure bill stalled for months. Speaking alongside executives from Coinbase and Gemini, Trump emphasized the need to keep the US ahead of China in crypto regulation. The bill, already approved by the House in July 2025, faces hurdles over tokenized equities and stablecoin rewards.

The CLARITY Act has been delayed amid concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving the Trump family and the crypto industry. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong suggested the bill could secure over 60 Senate votes if a cloture motion advances on September 18. Trump described the legislation as bipartisan, noting support from Democrats.

Trump linked the bill’s urgency to the recent death of Senator Lindsey Graham, a vocal supporter. The legislation aims to create durable crypto policies in the US, though its path forward remains uncertain due to ongoing Senate debates.
