Former President Donald Trump stated no money has been transferred to Iran, and no tolls or fees are being imposed on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that any funds released would be used to purchase U.S. agricultural products for Iran, controlled exclusively by the U.S.

Vessel traffic through the strait remains significantly reduced, with only 36 ships crossing in the past day, compared to 130-140 before the conflict. Trump previously claimed the strait handles 19 million barrels of oil daily, though current data does not reflect this volume.

Early indications suggest a slight uptick in traffic, but levels remain far below pre-war norms, raising questions about the strait’s operational status and potential indirect costs for transit.
