The company will abandon its Bitcoin treasury strategy following a $190 million paper loss on its 12,062 BTC holdings.
Trump Media & Technology Group (NASDAQ: DJT) will exit its Bitcoin treasury strategy after reporting a $190 million paper loss on its 12,062 BTC holdings. The company, which shifted focus to crypto last year, cited prolonged Bitcoin price declines as the reason for the pivot back to media and advertising.
The move follows a broader shakeout among corporate Bitcoin holders, including MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), which reported a $10 billion paper loss on its 840,447 BTC. MicroStrategy’s average acquisition price of $75,482 per Bitcoin now sits well above the current $63,000 level.
Trump Media’s Bitcoin holdings, valued at $755 million at current prices, remain underwater due to the extended crypto downturn. The decision underscores growing corporate caution toward digital asset treasury strategies.
