Truist Financial posted Q2 GAAP earnings per share of $1.23, beating estimates by $0.15. Revenue reached $5.27 billion, a 5.6% year-over-year increase and $30 million above forecasts.
The bank’s average loans and leases held for investment rose to $329.2 billion, up $2.1 billion or 0.7% from the prior quarter. Growth was driven by commercial and industrial loan demand.
The results reflect stronger-than-expected performance amid a stable lending environment.
