Veteran chartist cites XAU/BTC ratio nearing 0.067 as gold outperforms Bitcoin amid price divergence.
Veteran trader Peter Brandt is considering reallocating from Bitcoin to gold, pointing to a technical breakout in the XAU/BTC ratio. The ratio, currently near 0.067, indicates gold is gaining ground against BTC after a multi-year consolidation phase, according to his analysis.
Bitcoin trades at $62,658, down roughly 50% from its October 2025 peak of $126,000, while gold holds near $4,175 despite a 25% pullback from its record high above $5,600. Brandt’s thesis relies on classical technical patterns, not fundamental shifts, though he has previously flagged potential BTC lows between $40,000 and $60,000.
The rotation call has sparked debate, with critics like Michael Saylor attributing Bitcoin’s underperformance to liquidity dynamics rather than a structural shift in store-of-value assets.
