RWA deposits on blockchains tripled year-over-year to $7.4 billion in Q2 2026, defying broader crypto declines.

Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) reached $7.4 billion in deposits during Q2 2026, more than tripling from the prior year. The growth contrasts with stagnant major cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, which remain down sharply from 2025 highs amid macroeconomic pressures.

Bitcoin fell from its October 2025 peak of $126,000 to around $64,000, while Ethereum dropped below $1,900 from nearly $5,000 last August. Analysts attribute the decline to inflation concerns and expectations of prolonged high interest rates.

RWAs, including tokenized stocks, bonds, commodities, and real estate, offer 24/7 trading, lower fees, and instant liquidity. The sector’s expansion highlights investor demand for blockchain-based alternatives to traditional assets despite broader market weakness.
